Block IV - International Study Trip

The main goal of this block is to allow participants to put leadership theories into practice and immerse themselves into different startup ecosystems for the purpose of strategic networking, and the strenghtening of venture communication skills.

Module Title: Social Study Trip

Module Leader: Prof. Dr. Bart Clarysse

Method of Instruction: one-week off-campus field trip

Credits: 2 ECTS

Contents: During the Social Study Trip participants will be putting leadership theories into practice. Based on organisational behaviour theories and concepts, they will explore effective communication and leadership through: individual and group activities, theatre games, breath & body awareness and control, and listening and improvisation exercises. This allows participants to be more present and agile in their (professional) life, be more confident and inspiring leaders, and acquire practical experience which can directly be put into use to achieve business objectives.

This module will enable particpants:

  • To get inspired and appreciate similarities in challenges as well as different values and aspirations compared to the home ecosystem
  • To challenge and revise their leadership strategies through interaction with peers from a different experience background
  • To enhance networking and socializing skills, and broaden the social network
  • To gain a better understanding of leadership theories, and how they can be applied in practice

This study trip will also help strenghten the relationships within the CAS cohort: peer-connection, feedback, and learning are important elements of the CAS ELTV program.
