Block III - Leadership Development

This component of the CAS focuses on developing the personal leadership capabilities of our participants and their ability to take on major team leadership responsibilities either in their own startup or in their company.

This block is delivered through individual and small-group leadership development coaching. Highly experienced international senior executive coaches will work with the participants toward individually defined goals.

The leadership development track is ongoing over the course of both CAS semesters. Both courses will need to be passed.

Contents:

This block focuses on the development needs for participants' leadership competencies. Experienced leadership coaches will interact regularly with the participants and coach them along a personal development plan. Participants will receive feedback on specific challenges and activities with the goal to strenghten the particiants' leader capability and people skills.

This module will take place in collaboration with the external page Kets de Vries Institute (KDVI), an international consulting company specializing in leader development. Exercises and workshops will mostly take place in small peer groups with the experienced and carefully selected leadership coaches from KDVI. Coaches will develop together with the participants specific learning and personal development goals. Feedback from the coaches and from peers will allow the participant to reflect and implement learnings. The focus of this coaching will be on questions such as:

  • How do I lead a team and develop functioning collaboration?
  • How do I select and create talent?
  • Interaction with my board? With clients? With prospects?
  • How do I expand my network?

This block will enable participants:

  • To identify current gaps in the personal management skills and competencies and develop meaningful goals and plans to fill those gaps
  • To implement effective exercises and practices to improve the participants' leadership capacity
  • To effectively communicate and manage key constituents, notably employees and key advisors in a venture project
